Idénergie has developed a new type of electric generator, highly efficient at low velocities and completely waterproof thanks to an innovation that eliminates the drive shaft between the turbine and the generator. Thus we obtain a completely isolated generating housing, not penetrated by any rotating part. Its waterproofness limits necessary maintenance and will ensure a long product life. We are the inventors of this generator and are the only manufacturers of turbines in the world with this technology.
SMART ELECTRIC CONVERTER
This electronic board designed by our electric team is located inside the generator housing to allow the optimal conversion of electricity and control of the generator. It allows to recharge batteries while regulating the optimal speed of the turbine. The architecture of the card can be easily adapted to connect multiple turbines together to produce a higher amount of energy. Furthermore, a motor mode has been integrated to enable the auto start-up of the turbine, continuous power optimization, remote monitoring capabilities, an emergency brake and many more to come.
Idénergie’s river turbine is equipped with two Darrieus turbines. This model of turbines first issued from the wind industry was chosen for its installation and manufacturing simplicity. It accommodates a water depth of only two feet (60 cm), which increases significantly the number of potential rivers in which the river turbine can operate. Its other great quality is that the blades are inexpensive to produce, easy to replace and ship in case of damage.
Handles up to 12 turbines and distance up to 1 km / 1/2 miles
The bi-directional converter allows to transport electricity at a higher voltage (125Vdc) and avoid significant power losses or spending money in a larger cable diameter. It also allows to connect multiple turbines, up to a total of 6 kW.
River turbines are first connected to a junction box on the bank of the river. A rugged electrical cable will bring electricity to the battery bank. When reaching the batteries, the voltage output gets reduced down to 72V, 60V 48V and 24V using our bi-directional converter technology.
